About the Area: Thyme In the Country is an 1880s farmhouse on 5 pastoral acres in the heart of Columbia County, New York. Columbia county is nestled between the Hudson River and the Berkshire Mountains in upstate New York. As a county, it is well known for its open spaces and agricultural heritage. This fertile valley is home to farmlands, orchards, wineries and is renowned for its scenic beauty and rural charm. Much of New York States and Americas history had it foundations along the Hudson River.

Inn Description: Surrounded by scenic beauty and agricultural farmland, we strive to reflect this heritage in our accommodations. Helping you put together a vacation experience interwoven with our local culture is what we enjoy the most. From skating in the moonlight over a frozen pond, to jumping from a swing into a pile of fall leaves, we try our best to have our guests relax and enjoy the peace of country living at its simple best. We are committed to healthy and sustainable living, and "green" principles are incorporated into every aspect of what we do-from the food we serve to the electricity we use. We live environmentalism and promote it and pass the benefits on to our guests.

Rooms Description: Our bedrooms are roomy and comfortably furnished with simple antiques. All beds have down quilts and both hypoallergenic and down pillows. Bedding, curtains and rugs are made of all-natural fibers. No perfumes or harsh chemical cleansers are used in cleaning or laundering, and linens are air-dried. Organic mattresses are available in some rooms.

* Get off I-90 at the Hudson exit #12 * At end of ramp turn right on Rte 9 * Go 3.2 miles * Get on Rte 9H south follow it for approximately 12.8 miles * At the intersection of Route 9H and County Rte 18 or Fish and Game Road there is a light, take a left on to Fish and Game Road * Follow it for 2.2 miles. From Interstate 90 (East Boston)
* Get off I 90 at Exit B2 and continue on the Taconic State Parkway south for 16 miles * Get off at Exit for Philmont/ Harlemville Rte 217 * Take a left at end of exit ramp onto Rte 217 * Follow Rte 217 for 4 miles.
