Inn Description: Welcome to the Inn at Green River, your gateway to Columbia County, a world of rural beauty and sophisticated culture. This luxurious bed and breakfast is both authentically antique - with its 1830 Federal-style appointments - and thoroughly up-to-date. It has been lovingly restored and enhanced with every modern convenience by innkeeper, Deborah Bowen, during her 18 year proprietorship of the inn. Shaded by ancient sugar maples above a meadow where Cranse Creek flows into the Green River, the inn is located in the heart of the Hudson River Valley, in the foothills of the Berkshires. Seven beautifully appointed guest rooms, many with fireplaces, deep-soaking tubs, two person showers or whirlpool tubs await your arrival. No matter whether your interests include skiing in the Berkshires, taking in a concert at Tanglewood (the summer home of the Boston Symphony just 20 minutes away), or visiting Mass MoCA, Olana, the Norman Rockwell Museum, Hancock Shaker Museum, the Clark Art Institute, Naumkeag, Clermont or Lindenwald, Deborah stands ready to see you off with a gourmet breakfast (described as a "feast" by The New York Times) and all the local knowledge you need to get the most out of your stay.

Dining Information: The region abounds with excellent restaurants. We are happy to make dinner reservations for you, or direct you to the web site of our favorites.

Specials: The Tanglewood Special: The Boston Symphony Orchestra spends the summer nearby at Tanglewood, in Lenox, MA, in the heart of the Berkshires, "An American premier cultural resort:". In July and August the Symphony performs each Friday and Saturday evening, and on Sunday afternoons. During the week, chamber music, recitals and performances by the students at the Tanglewood Instituye round out the schedule. Extend your summer weekend stay to three nights" and we"ll provide lawn tickets to the concert of your choice. Do not forget to bring a blanket and lawn chairs!
